ry's standard library is the `std` namespace. With the prelude on, the default, every function is also in scope by its bare name, such as `List.map`; with `[check] prelude = false` it is reachable only as `std::List.map`. The [standard library guide](/reference/standard-library.md) covers the conventions the modules share.

| Module | Functions | Summary |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [`Result`](/reference/std/result.md) | 9 | A result is `:Ok(value)` or `:Err(error)`, typed `Result<T, E>`. |
| [`List`](/reference/std/list.md) | 78 | Functions over R lists, typed `list[T]`, and over [Arrays](/type-checking/arrays.md). |
| [`Str`](/reference/std/str.md) | 36 | Functions over single strings. |
| [`Num`](/reference/std/num.md) | 74 | Functions over single numbers, `integer` or `double`, and eight constants (`Num.pi`, `Num.tau`, `Num.e`, `Num.infinity` and the integer and double limits). |
| [`Bool`](/reference/std/bool.md) | 7 | Booleans are R's `TRUE` and `FALSE`, never `NA`. |
| [`Dict`](/reference/std/dict.md) | 27 | A dictionary maps keys to values, typed `Dict<K, V>`. |
| [`Set`](/reference/std/set.md) | 22 | A set of distinct keys, typed `Set<T>`. |
